In the wake of the stiff resistance from the Public on Uranium Mining in Nallamalla Forest, Telangana Government had made a key announcement in the State Council today. Mining Minister K Taraka Ramarao announced that the Government has no intention to permit the Uranium Mining in Nallamalla Forests.
KTR informed the same through his Twitter as well. “Have announced the Govt stand on Uranium mining issue in Legislative Council today: NO mining permission has been accorded by Telangana Govt. We will NOT permit any uranium mining in Nallamala forest area (sic),” KTR tweeted a little while ago.
This announcement was greeted well by the social media junta who applauded the decision of the Telangana Government. Some people are questioning why the Government permitted Uranium Exploration in the first place and are asking if this is not a U Turn after facing the ire of the Public.
Some of the Film Celebrities have also joined in the movement bringing much-needed Publicity and put pressure on the Government.
