The Manugude by-polls are said to be the costliest elections in the history of the Telugu states and the numbers clearly imply the same. The constituency has seen record spurge in sale of liquor and meat over the past few weeks as it headed for the by-polls.
As per the latest reports, all of Telangana recorded liquor sales worth Rs 3007 crore in the month of October. Manugode constituency alone constituted for 10% of the state-wide sales.
Liquor worth Rs 300 crores was sold in Manugode alone in the month of October which is 1/10th of the overall sales in the entire state of Telangana. This speaks a lot about the usage of liquor for the electoral campaigns of the parties that contested the polls, say netizens.
Manugode by-election saga is set to come to an end tomorrow with the counting process scheduled to be held tomorrow, 6th November.
As for the exit poll surveys, all the leading portals have predicted a TRS victory in the elections.
