Sitting MLA and YCP’s Tenali contestant, Annabathuni Siva Kumar, was involved in a physical assault against a common voter named Gottimukkala Sudhakar yesterday at the Ithanagar polling booth.
The video of Siva Kumar and Sudhakar slapping each other went viral on social media. After Sudhakar slapped back Siva Kumar, the latter’s assistants hit him hard by taking him out of the polling station.
Sudhakar vocally condemned Siva Kumar’s act of skipping the queue and directly entering the polling booth to cast his vote. Enraged by Sudhakar’s confrontation, Siva Kumar slapped him. Immediately, Sudhakar hit him back. This led Siva Kumar’s men to beat Sudhakar badly right on the premises of the polling station.
Today, Sudhakar revealed that he was attacked twice by YCP MLA’s men. After he was taken out of the polling booth, Sudhakar was severely beaten up by Siva Kumar’s associates. The police had to intervene to control the situation.
The MLA’s men were not in a mood to listen to the police as well. They continued to beat Sudhakar. Finally, the cops managed to rescue Sudhakar and immediately, boarded him into a police van.
This time, MLA’s men tried to open the police van’s doors and attempted to attack Sudhakar once again. However, they failed in their attempt and the police took Sudhakar to the 2-Town Police Station.
Due to the lack of enough staff, the police couldn’t take Sudhakar immediately to the hospital. He was first taken to the police station and after a few hours, he was shifted to the government hospital. He is currently undergoing treatment at Guntur Government Hospital.
Sudhakar claimed that he and his family are facing life-threatening danger from Siva Kumar and his associates. He has asked the police to provide them protection.
