Earlier today in Tenali, there was a tense situation when the current MLA and candidate from YCP, Annabathuni Siva Kumar, along with his supporters, physically assaulted a regular voter.
Getting into details, Siva Kumar skipped the line and went straight into the polling booth to vote. But a voter stopped and confronted him for skipping the line. This made Siva Kumar angry, so he hit the voter. The voter hit him back. Suddenly, Siva Kumar’s supporters joined in and started hitting the voter.
The voter was severely injured in the fight. The police had to step in to rescue him from the MLA’s supporters. They took him to the polling booth from the back gate so he could still vote.
Meanwhile, a video of the voter talking about what happened has surfaced on social media. In the video, the voter explains that everyone has to wait in line to vote, and nobody gets special treatment.
He said when the MLA tried to jump the line, he confronted him. After voting, the MLA hit him, and he hit back immediately without realizing what he was doing. He realised that he hit the MLA after he left the polling place.
Later, the MLA’s supporters dragged the voter outside and beat him up badly. He was seriously injured and lost a lot of blood. Finally, the police came and rescued him.
The voter said that it is the police’s responsibility to protect him from the MLA and his supporters because he is facing threats from them now.
