The Krishna River Management Board had ordered Telangana government to release drinking water to Krishna Delta from Nagarjunasagar for one more week. But this decision did not go well with the Telangana government. It has written a letter to the board about its dissent and asked the board not to take unilateral decisions with out consulting it. The government also asked the board to convene a meeting before taking any such decisions.
Telangana Irrigation Minister Harish Rao had a meeting with the officials this morning. He reportedly said “Telangana districts are also in need of water. We have to meet the requirements of Hyderabad and surrounding areas as well as Nalgonda and Khammam districts. We can not sacrifice Telangana interests for other states.”
