Telangana Government has started the Preparation for Vote on Account Budget. The State Government faces a tough financial challenges in the next five years as KCR stormed to Power making Tall Promises. The State Government estimates 10 Lakh Crore funds from all means in the next five years.
Out of that, the Salaries Bill alone will take away half i.e., around Five Lakh Crore. The state has to spend the remaining Five Lakh Crore on Welfare and Development. The ongoing Welfare Schemes will cost a minimum of 3.5 Lakh Crore. This is assuming that KCR do not announce new schemes further.
That leaves 1.5 Lakh Crore only for Development, Infrastructure Creation and Irrigation Projects. With Big Projects like Kaleshwar underway, they will take the Major Chunk of this fund. That will mean that infrastructure Creation especially in Hyderabad will be tight on funds.
At most SRDP and Metro may get allocations and the remaining will be neglected. The other day, KCR was Speaking about Mirror like Roads in Hyderabad which may not be easy. Major challenges await the Telangana Government in the next five years and it also requires tremendous fiscal discipline.
