The usually very confident KTR sounded helpless when asked about the various problems being faced by Hyderabad during Rainy Season. “It is okay if there are no rains in Hyderabad, But if it rains, water gets logged and there is a danger lurking,” the Municipal Minister said.

“The very thought of Rain is terrifying. Officials should be very careful ahead of the rainy season,” KTR said. But then such helpless comments by the Municipal Minister himself indicate that the administration is unprepared for the problems rains would bring.
In such case, Hyderabad should get ready for another horrific rainy season. Hyderabad has ages old drainage system which is not able to handle the rapid development of the city. Also, the Town Planning is totally poor with Nalas Encroachments taking a toll on the city’s drainage system.
