The results of First Phase Panchayat Elections in Telangana are out and it can be conveniently said that the Car Party has trampled all the Opposition Parties that came its way. 4479 Panchayats have gone for elections in the first phase. Initial trends indicate that all the other parties in the state put together can not even make 10% of the Ruling Party Tally
For an instance, the results were out for 753 Panchayat so far. TRS won a whopping 601 out of them while the Main Opposition Party, Congress could just manage 34. CPM got Six while TDP, BJP, CPI have got two each. Independents are more even when all the opposition parties put together as they managed to win 104 Panchayats.
The trend is likely to continue until the results are announced for all the 4479 Panchayats. Usually, Local Body Elections which happen immediately after an Assembly Election favors the Ruling Party. Moreover, the Opposition is still in a shock of the Assembly Elections and let go this election.
