TDP registered dismal results in Rayalaseema in 2019. The party managed to win only three seats out of the seats. While two seats are celebrity seats of Chandrababu Naidu and Balakrishna, the third one is for Payyavula Keshav.
Payyavula Keshav has been nominated as the PAC Chairman by Chandrababu Naidu.
Uravakonda has been a TDP stronghold. The party has won six out of nine.
Y. Visweswara Reddy has been the main opponent of Keshav ever since 2004. But then, Jagan is likely to refuse him ticket this time. Group politics in the constituency is making things difficult for Visweswara Reddy here.
Jagan is contemplating sending Anantapur MP Talari Rangaiah to Uravakonda in the coming election. He belongs to the Boya community which is dominant in Uravakonda. So, Jagan wants the MP to contest against Keshav.
But then, Rangaiah is not very keen on contesting from Uravakonda against such a strong candidate like Keshav. He is looking to contest again from Anantapur MP or go to Kalyanadurgam Assembly.
So, YSR Congress is struggling to select the right candidate to contest against Payyavula Keshav in the coming election.
