President of the United States Donald Trump and First Lady, Melania Trump have been tested positive for COVID-19. This is bound to happen as the President is often seen as going around without a mask and is busy with his election campaign these days.
The president’s physician said the couple is both “well at this time” adding that he expects Trump to “continue carrying out his duties without disruption while recovering.” There will be no stand-in as the President will be working from the White House. The news comes after an adviser, Hope Hicks, tested positive and Trump may have picked the virus from him.
The isolation would disrupt Trump’s election schedule and in all likelihood, he will be under quarantine for at least half of this campaign going forward. In case, the president is not in a position to work, there will be a temporary handoff of power to the vice president.
Trump getting infected should be a lesson to several leaders in India who have been negligent about wearing masks in the Public.
