The personal X (formerly Twitter) account of Andhra Pradesh Home Minister Vangalapudi Anitha (@Anitha_TDP) was compromised by cyber fraudsters.
Following the security breach, the Home Minister’s office issued an immediate public alert advising the public, media, and followers not to consider any recent posts or messages originating from the handle as official statements.
The hackers altered the profile appearance, removed the display photo, and pinned a post related to a crypto-currency scam titled “Early Contributor Rewards” under the name “FXRP” / Firelight Protocol.
Staff members from the Minister’s office lodged a formal police complaint with the Nakkapalli police in Anakapalli district, while the Home Minister also briefed Cyber Crime IG Ravi Krishna regarding the incident. Cyber crime officials have launched an investigation to identify the perpetrators and restore the account.
