Macharla constituency’s YCP MLA, Pinnelli Rama Krishna Reddy, got conditional anticipatory bail in all three cases filed against him.
The High Court of Andhra Pradesh ordered the police not to take any action against Pinnelli till June 6, until the results of the elections are declared.
However, the court asked Pinnelli to report at the SP office in Narasapuram every day. He was also told to surrender his passport and provide his full address details in Narasapuram. The court ordered him not to go to Macharla as well.
Meanwhile, Pinnelli visited the SP office at around midnight. He reported to the office and signed in. Although he could have visited the SP office in the morning, he chose to go at midnight when no one would be around. The video of his visit has surfaced on social media.
Meanwhile, netizens questioned the need to report to the SP office at such a late hour if Pinnelli believed he hadn’t committed any crime.
Pinnelli landed in the legal soup for smashing the EVM and VVPAT machines on the polling day at the Palvai Gate Police Station in Macharla. Though the Election Commission planned to arrest him, the High Court granted him an anticipatory bail.
