Vijay Divorce Case Turns Messy, No VC Amid ₹250 Cr Talk

Vijay divorce case court hearing update

Tamil actor and TVK chief Vijay’s divorce case has taken a serious turn, with the court making it clear that both he and his wife Sangeetha Sornalingam must appear in person for the next hearing.

The case came up in the Chengalpattu Principal Sessions Court, where the judge adjourned the matter to June 15 and directed both parties to be physically present.

During the hearing, Vijay’s lawyer informed the court that he is currently busy with Tamil Nadu Assembly election campaigning and requested permission for him to attend through video conference. However, the court did not agree and insisted that Vijay must appear in person on the next date.

Meanwhile, reports about a possible settlement are doing the rounds. According to media reports, Sangeetha has sought around ₹250 crore as part of the settlement, based on Vijay’s assets. There are also claims that she has asked for financial provisions for their son and daughter.

At the same time, there are reports suggesting that Vijay has offered around ₹35 crore and is willing to take responsibility for the children. However, none of these figures have been officially confirmed, and they remain part of ongoing speculation.

With the court now making personal appearance mandatory, the June 15 hearing is expected to be an important stage in the case. How both sides respond on that day could decide the next direction of the proceedings.
