YSR Congress’ Rajya Sabha MP, Vijaya Sai Reddy had started fight for his Master, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy. Vijaya Sai Reddy had decided to put up a Private Member Bill in Rajya Sabha to prevent the defections. He is urging the upper house to amend the constitution in such a way a person who defected will not be able to get any post.

Vijaya Sai Reddy says that defections are a danger to the democracy and will weaken the opposition. This seem to be another attempt to corner the 20 MLAs who have shifted their loyalties from YSR Congress to the ruling Telugu Desam Party. Given that government happened to corner KVP’s Private Member Bill on Special Status, it will have to see how this bill will find its way in Parliament.
More over many parties in many states have this involvement in defections. It is one of the biggest electoral reform and is unlikely to be moved with a Private Member Bill. But then at least YSR Congress may garner the parliament’s attention to the defections in Telugu States.
