The current Team India Coach Anil Kumble’s tenure is ending after the ongoing Champions Trophy and his contract is going to be ended due to his differences with Virat Kohli. BCCI had already begun the hunt for the successor of Anil Kumble.

Former Indian Opener Virender Sehwag has applied for the Position and BCCI was taken back seeing the resume which just had two lines. Sehwag wrote that he was a mentor of the Kings XI Punjab outfit and was familiar with the current crop of Indian players.
BCCI had reached out to him to send a complete CV after which he will be facing an interview. Apart from Sehwag, Sunrisers Hyderabad coach Tom Moody, Englishman Richard Pybus, Afghanistan coach Lalchand Rajput and Dodda Ganesh have applied for the job.
