Gudivada Amarnath on Coterie

Gudivada Amar had some moral lessons for ex Rajya Sabha MP and ex YSRCP member Vijayasai Reddy. Yesterday, Sai Reddy made some sensational comments that became talk of the entire media and political circles.

Hitting back at Vijayasai Reddy, Gudivada Amar retorted by saying who doesn’t have a coterie. Does Chandrababu not have a coterie? Set aside politics, which profession doesn’t have coterie he wondered.

Amar went on to take the example of Andhrajyothi and asked doesn’t Radhakridhna have a coterie. Wouldn’t he have someone to tell who’s working how?

Amar said coterie were a part of democracy. At every level and in every profession there will be coteries, pointed out Amar. Also, who has the right to talk about coteries. If someone who sees from far off or those who are not part of a coterie should talk about it. Not someone who was part of the coterie till recently, Amar said taking a direct jibe at Vijayasai Reddy.

If such people talk, will people accept it, will they be happy countered Amar. He said Sai Reddy should have thought about these things before talking in that manner, he said.

But it is our innocence expecting Vijayasai Reddy to maintain decency, hit out Amar.

It is known that Vijayasai Reddy spoke at length about the coterie that surrounded Jagan Mohan Reddy and how and why he quit the party because of them.

Vijayasai Reddy also said that Jagan lost due to the coterie and suggested he get rid of the coterie if he wants to win again.

The comments by Vijayasai Reddy at a time when the party is going through hard times, hasn’t gone down well with YSRCP cadre who are blaming Sai Reddy of discussing internal matters on a public platform.

As it is being anticipated that Sai Reddy could be joining BJP soon, it seems to be an attempt at washing dirty linen in public. Some political analysts say that if a man is not loyal to one party, he won’t be trusted in another party.
