Opposition Leader, Jagan Mohan Reddy chose not to contest in Kurnool MLC Election. Jagan, in fact, avoided the contest to save himself from yet another defeat which will demoralize the confidence of the cadre and leaders. Even though Jagan came up with fancy reasons to cover that up, it is more or less clear for everyone.

The Opposition Leader had recently completed his Padayatra in Kurnool District and even that did not infuse confidence in the leaders there to come forward to contest. They simply thought spending money now is like betting on a losing horse.
However, media has been kind to Jagan not to blow up the issue. Media despite many indications is hesitating to write off Jagan. That is just because they feel SC, Minorities, and Reddy voters will not desert YSR Congress easily.
But then, from the recent Kurnool by-election, it is evident that Reddy and Minorities have dumped Jagan and voted for TDP. If not for the benefit of the doubt from the media, YSR Congress would have slumped further in the public perception.
