YS Sharmila, AP PCC chief, made a major announcement about her son Raja Reddy. She stated, “Raja Reddy will inevitably enter Andhra Pradesh politics when necessary.”
This development is a new challenge for YSRCP chief Jagan. He now faces two political rivals from his own family. On Monday, Sharmila visited the onion market in Kurnool, where the big surprise was her son accompanying her.
For the first time, Raja Reddy was seen at a political event with his mother. Before leaving for Kurnool, he took the blessings of his grandmother Vijayamma. Photos and videos of this moment quickly went viral on social media.
Confirming her son’s political entry, Sharmila made it clear there is no set date yet. Named after his great-grandfather, Raja Reddy could become a new concern for his uncle Jagan in Andhra Pradesh politics.
Sharmila’s own political journey has not seen much success. After launching her own party and later joining AP Congress, she could not make a big mark. Now, she seems focused on fulfilling her aspirations through her son.
As the only male heir of YS Rajasekhara Reddy’s second generation, Raja Reddy may have an early advantage. Sharmila appears confident about his political future and is positioning him as YSR’s rightful heir.
However, political observers point out that just appearances are not enough. A young leader must show real strength and connect with people to establish himself. For now, analysts call Raja Reddy’s entry rather tepid.
