YS Sunitha recently met the Kadapa SP to request security for her visit to Pulivendula on her father YS Vivekananda Reddy’s Jayanthi. After the meeting, she once again made serious allegations against YS Avinash Reddy. Without naming Jagan Mohan Reddy, she pointed out how attempts were made to implicate her and her husband in the case, calling it the lowest level of politics she had seen.
She expressed frustration that while the accused roam free, she needs security to move around. Meanwhile, YSR Congress supporters have started attacking her character, accusing her of helping TDP in the 2024 elections and questioning her sudden media presence ahead of the Pulivendula ZPTC polls. Some even call her a TDP agent, ignoring the fact that the party she now opposes is the same one linked to her father’s murder.
Critics ask why it is wrong for Sunitha to work against YSR Congress, a party that allegedly protected the accused. Jagan should instead answer why his own sister is not on his side. In 2019, Sunitha believed Sakshi’s narrative and supported YSR Congress. But over six years, she realised it was not TDP leaders but her own party leaders involved, prompting her to fight for justice despite personal attacks.
Sunitha’s battle has been a lonely one, with YSR Congress leaders even dragging her and her husband’s names into the murder case. No daughter could tolerate being falsely implicated in her father’s killing. She has every reason to oppose YSR Congress, and if that indirectly benefits the opposition, it is not her concern. Her mission is justice, not political calculation — and anyone in her place would do the same.
