Loksabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan has asked all the five MPs of YSR Congress to meet her personally as she seeks a personal clarification regarding their resignations on 29th of this month. In all probability, their resignations will be accepted on 30th. Now the big question is if the by-elections will happen.

The General Elections are less than one year away and in all probability, the elections may not happen, the Political Experts opine. The Five MPs who have resigned are Avinash Reddy (Kadapa), Midhun Reddy (Rajampeta), YV Subba Reddy (Ongole), Siva Prasad (Tirupati), and Mekapati Raja Mohan Reddy (Nellore).
If the elections happen, they will be a referendum of sort since they are happening one year before the Assembly Elections. The Main Opposition Party, YSR Congress will fancy its chances since the elections will be happening in its strongholds. It has to be seen if BJP and Janasena will contest the elections if they happen.
