When a commando-themed action film meets a star-studded spectacular blockbuster, we can imagine it will be no Barbenheimer at the box office. It is quite an easy win for Kalki 2989 AD. And just like the early monsoon a dark cloud of bad timing looms heavily over Kill in North India.
Kalki 2898 AD, a mythological dystopia and heavily star-studded film is making a big impact amongst the North Indian audiences. It is the impact of big guns like Amitabh Bachchan, Prabhas, Kamal Hassan, and Deepika Padukone. Film pundits believe it is going to continue doing exceptionally in the coming weeks as well.
On the other hand, Karan Johar and Guneet Monga produced Kill is set on an overambitious rivalry. After the backing of Lionsgate and doing well at the Toronto International Film Festival, there were high hopes with its release amongst the Indian masses. All fault lies with its time of release.
In spite of the serious hand-to-hand action of Kill and its international acclaim, there couldn’t be a worse timing for this film with lesser-known actors to come to silver screens. At the moment the “Kalki storm” seems undefeatable by any other movie. Unfortunately it will be a disastrous box office clash for Kill to release alongside Kalki 2898AD.
