A shocking incident from Tekulapalli mandal in Bhadradri Kothagudem district has left many disturbed. A young woman ended her life after alleged sexual and mental harassment by her fiancé.
The victim, Thullika Sree from Venkatya Tanda, was engaged three months ago to Banothu Bichcha from Seetharampuram, Lakshmidevipalli mandal. He told her family that he worked at an airport with a salary above one lakh. Believing him, they fixed the match and promised a dowry of ₹60 lakh.
After the engagement, the two exchanged phone numbers and became close through regular calls and messages. He even took her out, pretending they were going to temples. Over time, their relationship turned physical.
On August 8, Bichcha took her to his cousin’s birthday party and later dropped her home. That evening, her parents noticed she looked disturbed. Crying, she revealed the abuse she had been facing.
Sree told them that he beat her whenever another boy messaged her. He accused her of being unfaithful and even texted that he would not marry her and would rather die.
Heartbroken by his behaviour, Sree consumed pesticide. Her family rushed her to hospital, but her condition worsened. She died during treatment.
Police have registered a case and launched an investigation into the incident.
