
Over the years, Hyderabad emerged as one of the top metropolitan cities in India. Now, according to the 2024 Hurun India Rich List, Hyderabad ranks third among the Indian cities with the most billionaires.
Mumbai tops the list with 386 billionaire residents. Delhi ranks second with 217 individuals. Hyderabad stood in third position with 104 billionaire residents.

For the first time, Hyderabad overtook Bengaluru in the list by introducing 17 new billionaire residents this year. Telangana stood in fifth position among the states with the most billionaires.
The prominent Hyderabadi billionaires are Murali Divi and family (Divi Laboratories – Rs. 76,100 cr), C. Venkateshwar Reddy (Aparna Constructions), S. Subramanian Reddy (Aparna Constructions), P. Pitchi Reddy (Megha Engineering – MEIL – Rs. 54,800 cr), PV Krishna Reddy (MEIL – Rs. 52,700 cr), GM Rao (GMR – Rs. 36,300 cr) PV Ramprasad Reddy (Aurobindo Pharma – Rs. 35100 cr), Bandi Prasad Reddy (Hetero Pharma – Rs. 29,900 cr) and Prathap Reddy (Apollo Hospitals – Rs. 28,500 cr).

Interestingly, Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy’s son, Ponguleti Harsha Reddy, also made it to the list at the age of just 30 with a wealth of Rs. 1300 crore.
Overall, by surpassing Bengaluru, Hyderabad has demonstrated its economic growth and solidified its significance as a centre for wealth creation.
