The world is getting more and more competitive each day and the more we aspire to achieve the more we are vulnerable to disappointment. Nevertheless, Indians are not taking their foot off and this rather crazy obsession to be the best is forcefully rubbed off on their kids as well. It is no wonder that Indian parents take pride in bragging about their kid’s achievements. It sometimes reaches to a point that it is more about them than the kids.
A video is going viral on the internet which shows numerous kids competing at solving mathematical calculations using mental math and abacus technique. The video has raised serious concerns about what parents are subjecting their children to.
It is this tremendous pressure or rather torture that these kids are shoved into for the sake of their parents that don’t allow many of them to learn the more important aspects of life. Imagine giving your whole life to something that has a less than 1 percent chance of success.
They grow up as kids who don’t know how to deal with this world because they were never allowed to see it in the first place. It is stupid to be training your own children to become calculators when you could have taught them how to critically think. But maybe that is something they are lacking themselves thanks to the modern hustle culture which in effect feels like corporate slavery.
