Hyderabad pregnant wife murder case

Hyderabad has been shaken by a horrifying crime after a man murdered his pregnant wife and tried to dump her body parts in the Musi River. The incident took place in Balaji Hills, Medipally, leaving residents horrified and the community in shock.

Police identified the accused as Mahender Reddy, who allegedly killed his wife Swathi, five months pregnant, by hacking her into pieces. The couple had a love marriage but were often quarrelling, which is believed to have escalated into this brutal act.

Officials said Reddy stuffed the body parts into bags and covers before attempting to dispose of them in the Musi River. Neighbours, suspicious after hearing strange noises, alerted the police, who reached the spot and caught him before he could dump the remains.

Residents described Swathi as a quiet woman and expressed disbelief at the violence that unfolded in their neighbourhood. Police have arrested Mahender Reddy and taken him into custody. Early investigations point to marital discord, but other motives are also being examined.

The body parts have been recovered and sent for forensic tests. Authorities said the case has sparked anger and fear, with many highlighting the rise in domestic violence cases that often lead to extreme crimes across society.

This gruesome murder of a young pregnant woman has once again underlined the urgent need for awareness, mental health counselling, and stronger preventive measures to ensure domestic disputes do not spiral into such unimaginable tragedies.
