Hyd Land Scam: Fake Documents & Shocking Victims

Hyderabad land scam police arrest

Hyderabad police have busted a major land scam where fraudsters targeted vacant plots and duped people using forged documents.

The gang mainly focused on properties owned by elderly people who could not frequently visit police stations or courts to protect their land.

Officials said the accused identified vacant plots along the Yadagirigutta route and areas like Rampally and Ghatkesar. They made fake death certificates, encumbrance certificates, and sale deeds to claim ownership and sell the properties illegally.

Police arrested eight members of the gang. Those taken into custody include Beegudem Aravind, Sampangi Suresh alias Pawan, Eega Hariprasad, Chekkala Somanath alias Somayya, Kotla Nagendra Prasad alias Raghunath Reddy, and Mir Mohammad Hussain, along with two others.

Investigators said the gang forged ownership papers and created fake identities to sell the plots. Their operation went on smoothly until several complaints led police to start an investigation.

Authorities confirmed 13 more suspects are still at large. Police are working hard to catch them soon. They also warned the public to be careful when buying land and to verify documents properly to avoid scams.

This case shows how organised gangs exploit loopholes in land records to cheat buyers and elderly landowners.
