Infosys is one of the top companies in the IT sector, with most employees working worldwide. Now, the company launched a ‘power programme’ for colleges with differential hiring. Under this program, the company will offer packages of up to Rs. 9 lakhs per annum for freshers.
Usually, the packages offered to freshers in the market are between Rs. 3-3.5 lakh. But the company is coming up with a new program that could be termed a game-changer for freshers in the IT sector.
According to the sources, the company wants to extend its hiring focus to coding and software challenges, programming skill testing, and other specialised skill tests for both tests and interviews.
On the other hand, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) also has a similar initiative. Their programme is called Prime and its focus is also on hiring of freshers for software development profiles and they offer salaries in the range of Rs. 9-11 lakh per annum.
Now, Infosys plans to hire 15,000-20,000 graduates in FY25. Jayesh Sanghrajka, chief financial officer at Infosys, in a recent conference call, explained, “As you know, in the last multiple quarters, we have moved to the agile hiring base. That basically means we hire freshers both from the campus and off the campus.”
