Yes, From 2024, The Academy will follow new inclusivity standards for Best Picture nominations. Films need to have underrepresented groups make up 30% of the cast, main actors, or storyline. According to the guidelines that person can be a woman, ethnic minority, LGBTQ, or disabled individual.
The Oscar submission form now asks for details on race, gender, sexual orientation, and health of cast and crew. It’s part of the Academy’s new inclusion standards (RAISE) announced in 2021.

It seems that people are not very welcoming to this new guideline, which does not focus on the quality of the movie but rather on forced representation of different ethnic groups. If this were true, movies like “Schindler’s List,” “Joker,” and “The Godfather” might have had no chance of winning Oscars.
Even the Oscars voters are not pleased with the inclusivity rules. Hollywood celebrities like Richard Dreyfuss, as well as many producers and directors, have disagreed with this forced representation.
