In a shocking turn of events, a techie’s suicide in Hyderabad has caught the attention of people, going viral across the internet.
Devika and Satish had a grand ceremony just 6 months back in Goa. Fast forward 6 months and Devika’s family is now left inconsolable after their daughter’s tragic demise.
Her family have alleged that Satish and his family had been harassing Devika, constantly pressuring her over their demand for dowry.
According to her family, Devika found herself helpless and hence ended her life, not able to find another way out of the situation.
Her body was found by her husband, who then informed both the police as well as her family members.
It’s tragic to see such treatment being given to women over money and materialistic things even in the 21st century.
Incidents like these weaken society’s trust in the institution of marriage, where the treatment given to the bride is judged by the amount of dowry offered by her family.
