In a strange series of events from Kanpur, a couple reportedly scammed dozens of elderly people with promises of a “scientific” age reversal. Rajeev Kumar Dubey and Rashmi Dubey duped people by promising age reversal through “Oxygen Therapy”, made possible by a wonderous ‘Israel-made time machine’!
Their therapy centre, aptly named ‘Revival World’, promised unsuspecting people that upon undergoing their Oxygen Therapy, their ages would be reversed from 60 to 25, with just a ‘nominal’ price of ₹6000 for 10 sessions, or a total of ₹90,000 for a full three-year reward system. Now who in their right mind can turn down such a ludicrous offer!
Turns out, people did buy into the scam as the couple managed to rake up a whopping ₹35 Crores just over the promise of making you 25 again! The thought of Kanpur’s polluted air leading to premature ageing so successfully played into people’s fears, that they handed their money to the couple, no questions asked.
A police complaint was filed by one of the victims, who eventually realised that even after all these therapies, she was still 60! The police have launched a manhunt for the couple, who are yet to be found.
Incidents like these will keep happening as long as we let such scammers tap into our inherent fears about our lives. In this case, the people grabbed the golden promise of youth, as it played into their fear of natural ageing and eventual demise. These scammers know that the only ‘Oxygen’ they would ever pump into a victim’s body is hope, and everything else would follow suit.
