Celebrity obsession often crosses the line and turns into a curse for ordinary lives. A shocking case from Uttar Pradesh has highlighted this dark side, where a man’s obsession with Nora Fatehi led to the abuse of his wife.
A 26-year-old woman from Muradnagar, married to a 28-year-old physical education teacher, revealed that her husband forced her to look like the Bollywood star. He reportedly made her spend three hours at the gym every day and even denied her food if she skipped workouts. His extreme fixation pushed her into physical and emotional torture.
Shockingly, the woman alleged that her in-laws supported this cruelty. They constantly body-shamed her, saying they could have found a daughter-in-law who looked like Nora Fatehi. She also revealed that her family paid ₹75 lakh in dowry, including a Mahindra Scorpio and jewellery, but she still faced harassment.
The victim has now filed an FIR, exposing the extent of abuse she faced at the hands of her husband and in-laws. Netizens expressed outrage over the incident, with many mocking the man by saying he should have married Nora Fatehi herself if he was so obsessed, instead of ruining another woman’s life.
Social media users also pointed out that celebrities maintain their fitness with access to top-tier trainers, dieticians, and financial resources—something middle-class families cannot easily replicate. Setting unrealistic expectations not only damages relationships but also normalises cruelty in the name of admiration.
This disturbing case serves as a reminder that love and marriage require acceptance and respect, not abuse rooted in toxic fan obsession.
