Kohli Over Sachin? Former Ind Star Takes Brutal Dig at AB

AB de Villiers Virat Kohli debate

AB de Villiers has sparked a fresh debate after rating Virat Kohli above Sachin Tendulkar in overseas Test conditions.

The former South Africa batter said Tendulkar started the trend of Indian batters succeeding in seaming and bouncy conditions, but felt Kohli took it further.

De Villiers said Kohli was even better than Tendulkar in those conditions. The comments did not go down well with former India fast bowler Dodda Ganesh.

Dodda Ganesh responded to De Villiers on X with a cheeky line Pass on the weed, brother.

The comparison between the two Indian batting greats has now started another debate among fans.

Sachin Tendulkar‘s overseas Test numbers remain strong. He scored 8,705 runs at an average of 54.7, with 29 centuries in 106 overseas Tests.

Kohli, meanwhile, has scored 4,894 runs at an average of 41.51 in 68 overseas Tests.

Kohli does have some major overseas achievements. He scored four centuries in the 2014-15 Border Gavaskar Trophy and led India to their first Test series win in Australia.

He also scored 697 runs during India’s 2018 Test series in England. Both batters have produced some of India’s biggest overseas performances, but De Villiers’ latest comparison has once again put their Test records under the spotlight.
