
The BCCI has finally announced the squad for the upcoming India Tour of England, ending all speculations once and for all.
Shubman Gill has been named as the captain of the side, with Rishabh Pant serving as his deputy while being the wicketkeeper as well.

Apart from these two, the squad features Karun Nair, Sai Sudharsan, KL Rahul, Abhimanyu Easwaran and Yashasvi Jaiswal as batters; Kuldeep as spinner; Bumrah, Siraj, Akash Deep, and Arshdeep as pacers while keeping Shardul Thakur, Ravindra Jadeja, Washington Sundar and Nitish Reddy as all-rounders.
This squad has generated a lot of controversies online, with people questioning Gill’s capabilities to lead the side as Test Captain.

Mohammed Shami and Sarfaraz Khan not being chosen for the series is also a big highlight, as murmurs have already begun to spread regarding any potential inside rift that may have led to this happening.
With the first test match set to be held on 20th June, it will be interesting to see if Gill and Company can fill in the shoes of their seniors to create a team that can tackle the demon right in its backyard.
