Arshdeep Singh has been a valuable young talent for India, a talent that needs to be nourished and moulded into the right shape to prepare a potentially lethal pace attack.
However, it seems the all-knowing GG and the management have got different plans for him. All they seem to use him for in this ongoing series is to warm the benches.
Arshdeep has not played a single match yet in this series, and if recent reports are to be believed, he has also suffered a cut on his bowling hand, which is most probably going to ruin any remaining chances of getting selected in the remaining two matches.
It’s not like Arshdeep was the priority for GG anytime in the recent past. GG’s prodigy Harshit Rana was always kept ready to take the spot of a pacer over much more deserving names.
The anger regarding Arshdeep’s fate seems to be growing among the public as well. Cricket fans are furious over the use of such talent in the nets, and they are demanding to know why he was even made to go through that if the decision was not to play him anyway.
We can only hope that the management sees his true potential soon and trains him properly to potentially develop the pace-balling prowess that India so desperately needs right now.
