India beat Afghanistan by 7 wickets in the second T20I in Delhi to take an unassailable 2-0 lead in the three match series.
Sanju Samson top scored with 57 off 22 balls, while Abhishek Sharma and Ishan Kishan also made important contributions.
Shreyas Iyer won the toss and decided to bowl first. Afghanistan made 159/8 in 20 overs, with Ibrahim Zadran scoring 37 runs. Darwish Rasooli made 26, Mohammad Nabi scored 20 and Rashid Khan added 28 runs late in the innings.
Nitish Kumar Reddy made an impact with the ball after returning from injury. He took three wickets, while Arshdeep Singh picked up two. Jasprit Bumrah, Ravi Bishnoi and Axar Patel took one wicket each.
India started the chase with Sanju Samson and Abhishek Sharma. The pair put Afghanistan under pressure from the start and added 88 runs for the first wicket. Abhishek scored 39 off 19 balls, hitting two fours and four sixes.
Rashid Khan then gave Afghanistan a chance by removing both openers in the seventh over.
He first dismissed Abhishek and then sent Samson back on the final ball of the over. Samson’s 57 came from just 22 balls and included seven fours and two sixes.
Rashid Khan also dismissed Shreyas Iyer for 11, but Afghanistan could not stop the chase.
Ishan Kishan remained unbeaten on 38 and Tilak Varma stayed with him as India reached 163/3 with 31 balls remaining. India now lead the series 2-0, with the third and final T20I left to play.
