Silambarasan TR and Vetrimaaran’s project in the Vadachennai universe is a hot topic in Kollywood after strong speculation spread on social media a few days ago that Dhanush was demanding ₹20 crores to issue the NOC for Vadachennai.
Today, Vetrimaaran clarified this by posting a video on YouTube, stating that Dhanush did not ask for a single rupee and has said that he will give the NOC, and that many unwanted rumors are spreading on social media about this.

He further clarified that his project with Silambarasan TR is happening in the Vadachennai universe, but it is not Vadachennai 2, and Vadachennai 2 will only happen with Dhanush as the lead.
However, following Vetrimaaran’s clarification, many netizens on social media started to troll Nayanthara, responding that Dhanush had demanded more than ₹10 crores for a single BTS scene in Nayanthara’s marriage documentary for Netflix.

They pointed out that he did not ask for a single rupee to issue the NOC for the most celebrated movie of his acting career, implying that Dhanush’s copyright strike on Nayanthara may be due to her backstabbing attitude and that Dhanush is not a money-minded person.
Nevertheless, Dhanush fans are sharing Vetrimaaran’s video and thanking him on social media for the official clarification, as many people on social media have been tarnishing Dhanush’s image for the past few days.
