Rajinikanth’s most anticipated sequel, Jailer 2, directed by Nelson Dilipkumar, began its first schedule of shooting yesterday in Chennai, and Sun Pictures has officially confirmed this with a poster release.
Following the shooting update, Rajinikanth fans on social media started to celebrate it and commented that Jailer 2 is going to be the first 1000-crore movie of Kollywood.

However, some trade experts expressed concern that this is a bad move from Rajinikanth and Sun Picture’s side, they should have started Jailer 2 only after the release of Coolie, as the increased hype for Jailer 2 may diminish the anticipation for Coolie.
The recent updates about Jailer 2 have increased lots of hype for the movie and people were talking more about Jailer 2 than Coolie for the past few months on social media, this may affect the Coolie, which is a high-budget movie slated to release soon.

Even Some Rajinikanth fans on social media have commented that hype-wise, Jailer 2 is more than Coolie, despite the latter being directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj.
Nevertheless, Coolie is aiming for an August release, and it has huge expectations amongst the Kollywood audiences. It remains to be seen whether Coolie becomes a blockbuster success and shatters the previous box office records after the release.
