Karthi, fresh off the success of Meiyazhagan, has completed two major projects — Vaa Vaathiyaar and Sardar 2. He is also currently working on Marshal, directed by Tamizh. However, despite this lineup, 2025 looks set to be a dry year for the star with no releases.
Industry speculation suggests that Karthi is also in discussions with Thudarum director Tharun Moorthi for a potential collaboration. While this news has excited fans, there has been no official confirmation yet.
The bigger concern lies with his completed projects. Both Vaa Vaathiyaar and Sardar 2 are reportedly stuck due to financial hurdles. Trade experts believe that neither film is likely to see a release in 2025, even though their shooting has been wrapped up.
As a result, Karthi’s only on-screen appearance this year will be his cameo in Nani’s Hit 3. If the financial issues surrounding Vaa Vaathiyaar and Sardar 2 are resolved, 2026 could see Karthi bounce back with as many as three to four releases.
For now, fans are left waiting for official updates on his stalled projects and the much-discussed Tharun Moorthi collaboration. Whether these films release next year will determine how strong a year 2026 turns out to be for Karthi.
