Recently, the grand pre-release event of the upcoming Kollywood film Mandaadi starring Soori and Suhas in the lead roles and directed by Mathimaran Pugazhendhi, took place in Chennai.
During his speech at the event, actor Sathyaraj, who plays a crucial role in the film, stated that Mandaadi is a solid film with huge potential to do wonders at the box office.
Furthermore, he mentioned that the producer has to take necessary steps to release the film worldwide across multiple countries. He claimed that Mandaadi is made with a unique concept and if it connects well with the audience, it has a strong possibility of becoming a 1000-crore grosser, similar to the success of Dangal. This speech by Sathyaraj quickly went viral on social media, sparking heated discussions.
Even though many people took it lightly and suggested that Sathyaraj seems very confident with the output of Mandaadi, which is why he made this statement, some feel that he went overboard.
They suggest that nowadays, actors and crew members make such comments during pre-release events to increase the hype for the film. However, they feel this has backfired many times, as it creates over-expectations among the audience. Consequently, when the movie fails to live up to those expectations upon release, such statements become major troll material.
Additionally, they point to producer Dil Raju, who is currently being heavily trolled for his comments that Toxic would easily achieve 2000 crores, especially since that film is now heading toward disaster status. They claim that if Mandaadi disappoints, Sathyaraj might face severe trolling for his comments, similar to Dil Raju.
Ultimately, with the strong pre-release hype, Mandaadi is all set to hit screens on September 10th. It remains to be seen whether Mandaadi will live up to the hype created by Sathyaraj’s statements or end up as a failure, leaving Sathyaraj to face severe trolling upon its release.
