Vijay and Anirudh Under Fire for Alleged Fake Views?

Vijay Anirudh Katcheri song

The first single from Vijay’s upcoming film Jana Nayagan titled Thalapathy Katcheri was released last Saturday on YouTube. Composed by Anirudh Ravichander and sung by Vijay, Anirudh, and Arivu, the song instantly went viral across social media.

However, reactions have been mixed. While fans praised the energy of the track, many called it Vijay’s weakest single in recent years. By yesterday afternoon, the song had reportedly accumulated around 14 million views, sparking memes and trolls online targeting Vijay and Anirudh Ravichander.

Surprisingly, by the evening, the view count surged dramatically rising from 14 million to nearly 34 million in a matter of hours. This sudden spike has led to widespread speculation that the Jana Nayagan team may have allegedly used bots to boost the view count artificially.

Social media users began claiming that the production team paid heavily for view bots after being trolled for the song’s low engagement. Some even pointed out that a three-day-old video crossing 20 million additional views overnight was highly unusual.

In response to the online chatter, YouTube clarified that the platform’s system automatically verifies engagement metrics, and view counts can temporarily freeze or adjust while confirming whether the traffic is genuine.

Despite YouTube’s clarification, scepticism persists. Many netizens believe the surge was orchestrated as part of a PR strategy and continue to allege that Thalapathy Katcheri’s views were inflated artificially.

Regardless of the truth, the discussion surrounding Thalapathy Katcheri’s view count has now taken over social media. The controversy has only added to the buzz around Jana Nayagan, ensuring the film and its music remain in the spotlight for now.
