Vishwanath & Sons Losing Hype? Karuppu Set the Bar Too High?

Suriya in Vishwanath & Sons music update

The second single from Suriya’s anticipated Vishwanath & Sons, composed by GV Prakash Kumar and titled The Wedding Song, was released recently and is receiving mixed responses from the audience.

Since Suriya’s last film Karuppu was a massive blockbuster and director Venky Atluri’s last film Lucky Baskhar was a huge hit in Tamil Nadu, Vishwanath & Sons has high expectations among the audience.

Although the teaser for the film, which was released a few weeks ago, impressed the audience and raised expectations, the songs composed by GV Prakash Kumar for this film haven’t created much of an impact.

Vishwanath & Sons is gearing up for a worldwide theatrical release on August 14th. With only a few weeks left until the release, the team recently released the film’s second single, The Wedding Song, sung by Suriya himself and composed by GV Prakash Kumar.

Some listeners, after hearing the song, are commenting that The Wedding Song feels flat and outdated. They suggest that although the visuals in the lyrical video look solid with the dance moves of Suriya and Mamitha Baiju, as a track, The Wedding Song is a disappointing work from GV Prakash Kumar.

Also, they are suggesting that GV Prakash Kumar is slowly becoming outdated. They point to the album of Suriya’s last film, Karuppu and claim that Sai Abhyankkar single-handedly accelerated the hype for Karuppu, whereas GV Prakash Kumar is failing to maintain the momentum, causing Vishwanath & Sons to slowly lose its hype.

Nevertheless, despite the criticisms from some people, many still believe that GV Prakash Kumar is a solid composer and that he will make an impact with the background scores in the film.

However, with the mixed reviews for the second single, it remains to be seen whether GV Prakash Kumar will prove his potential with the upcoming singles and the background scores of the film.
