Human Bomb Threat On Jeddah-Hyd Flight

Indigo Jeddah Hyderabad flight diverted

A human bomb threat was emailed to the Indigo flight 6E 68 from Jeddah to Hyderabad on Saturday. The Rajiv Gandhi International Airport authorities received the warning around 5.30 am and were immediately told not to allow the flight to land.

Following the alert, the flight was diverted to Mumbai, where it landed safely. Security officials carried out detailed checks as per protocol. According to PTI, the email claimed LTTE-ISI terrorists were on board and planned a 1984 Madras airport-style attack using nerve gas and IEDs.

Airport security teams and the police were informed right away. The GMR authorities later filed a formal police complaint. After thorough checks, the flight was cleared for further operations once it was confirmed safe.

In the past, similar threats were made to Rajiv Gandhi International Airport, prompting full security combing operations. Though these incidents created panic among passengers, no explosives were ever found. The latest threat has now heightened security at the Hyderabad airport once again.
