A holiday for two Indian-origin families ended tragically in an unprecedented accident that killed a total of five people. The incident took place in Melbourne, Australia and has caused deep sorrow among the members of the community. Among the dead are two children who were with their parents when this accident happened. Several others have been injured in this case and many are receiving treatment at hospital.
The two families were having a break and were on an outing at a Melbourne pub. They were sitting in the outdoor dining area of the pub when a speeding SUV rammed inside the dining area and drove over many people who were present there. The deceased includes two men who were 38 and 30, a woman who was 44 and two kids aged 11 and 9.
The incident took place on Sunday evening at the Royal Daylesford hotel. The man driving the SUV has been questioned by the police. As of now, no charges have been pressed against the 66 year old man and he’s not under arrest. Police are investigating the case and checking all the angles possible. The community is in shock and offers their support to the family going through this difficult time.
