Around 1.5 million Indian students have been studying at foreign Universities since 2012 and currently there are 250,000 students from India who are studying in US Universities. Within a year a massive 36% increase is visible.
It is believed by Indian students that studying in the foreign Universities will unlock better career opportunities which are not available in India.
Furthermore, Canada was loved by Indian students because of the quality of education and for the easy permanent residency and citizenship norms. It is facing a downfall due to several political reasons. The US can be seen as a new favourite of the Indian students. Until August of 2023 Canada was one of the top study destinations, but the shift occurred in 2023 October- December, where we could see a positive light in the case of the US.
Although for India it isn’t a good news because many students look for universities which will help them find a good ranking job, but for America it is a positive news as they are looking at India as a new source of Income because the students are paying full tuition fees.
