Yes! The Permanent Residential Fees of Canada will be increased!
The Canadian permanent residents will have to pay higher living fees, which will be a 12% increase for key immigration programs. The schedule will be updated as of 30th April.
According to the official department of Citizenship and immigration, the right of permanent residence fee stands at 575 Canadian dollars with the 12% increase, before the new rules it was 515 CAD.
The payment for different immigration programs are also increased, for example Federal Skilled Worker Program, or Indians who want to have the citizenship of Canada their fees are also increased. For all the cases the fees range from CAD 850 to CAD 950, the same fee rate also be applied to their common law partners as well.
India is on the top ten list of new permanent residents in Canada. In the year 2022 1.18 lakhs Indians became a permanent resident of Canada.
As the immigration target survey announced, last November, Canada welcomed 4.85 lakh new permanent residents in 2024 and will be receiving 5 lakh in 2025.
