Dec Visa Update: Big Jump in Indian EB Green Cards

December 2025 Visa Bulletin update

The December 2025 Visa Bulletin brings rare relief for Indian applicants. After months of slow movement, the US has pushed several employment based green card final action dates ahead, marking one of the biggest jumps this year.

What final action dates mean for you

The final action date decides when the US can give you the green card. If your priority date comes before this cut off, your case can be approved. Filing dates only decide when you can submit your application.

Update on EB 1, EB 2, and EB 3

EB 1 moved to March 15, 2022. The jump is only one month from February 15, 2022, but it still helps top Indian talent stuck in the queue. EB 2 advanced six weeks to May 15, 2013. EB 3 reached September 22, 2013, giving tech and healthcare workers a small push forward.

Movement in EB 4 and why it matters

EB 4 recorded one of the biggest jumps. It moved from July 1, 2020, to September 1, 2020. This helps many religious workers who remained blocked for months with no progress.

Strong jump in EB 5 for Indian investors

EB 5 saw the most surprising shift. The unreserved category moved five months to July 1, 2021. This is encouraging for Indian investors who placed large sums into US projects while waiting for green card decisions.

Where filing dates and family categories stand

Filing dates for Indians show almost no improvement this month. Family based categories including F1, F2A, F2B, F3, and F4 remain frozen. These waits run 15 to 20 years for Indian families, and this bulletin changes nothing there.

What this means for Indian applicants

The bulletin gives a short boost to Indian employment based applicants. Still, even the biggest jumps do not clear the massive backlog. Thousands of applicants remain stuck in a long queue for their green cards.
