The western media faces the biggest challenge of convincing their viewers about their news as facts and not propaganda. With sections of media lying on two extreme ends of the poles, it is not easy for the viewers to distinguish facts from fiction. Elon Musk has taken a dig at the propaganda and false narrative style reporting used by the big media houses in the USA.
In a highly polarized United States, the lens of the media plays a very important role in shifting and twisting narratives that suit only a particular section of society. Elon Musk tweeted data on inter-racial crime since 2018 to show that there has been propaganda to incriminate the white people by highlighting only the crimes committed by them while those by others are more in number.
The so-called liberal media of the United States not only repeatedly fed this narrative but also hid the whole picture that explained things in a better light. The accusation of pushing propaganda goes both ways.
The right wing media of the USA had also been accused of running lies about the economy. Earlier, videos have circulated of numerous Fox News Channels of running the same script everywhere threatening the legitimacy of news.
