In the state of Illinois, an unsettling incident unfolded as four armed individuals, aged in their twenties, targeted liquor stores in Chicago.
The first victim was Mr P Beverage Depot in Wicker Park, where an employee of Indian descent, Pankajkumar Patel, faced a distressing encounter.
Two assailants entered the Indian-origin liquor store, holding Patel and his co-worker at gunpoint, while the other two monitored the parking lot.
The criminals, armed with revolvers and semi-automatic handguns, subjected Patel to the terror of a gun pressed against his forehead, and his colleague was physically assaulted.
The perpetrators fled with approximately $3,000 to $4,000 in cash and the employees’ mobile phones.
The spree continued at two more liquor stores, raising concerns about a surge in such incidents in Chicago. Authorities urged heightened security measures for businesses and emphasized the importance of surveillance to deter potential threats.
