
Another H1B dream has been shattered by a shady US employer taking advantage of a vulnerable Indian applicant.
The Indian aspirant shared his horrific experience, claiming an employer, who filed his H-1B in Hyderabad is now hiding from him. There were no answers, no travel, and no way to recover the money he had allegedly paid to the employer.

He further explained on a social media post, “The lottery was picked in 2024 March and it has been more than 1 year. Lost money and dreams shattered. For new lottery systems they are still accepting profiles.”
This is the reality for many vulnerable Indians who fall into the trap of scammers claiming to secure H-1B jobs for a price. Paying for an H-1B job is illegal, but desperation pushes people to take this risky chance.

And now the applicant is not only scrambling to get H-1B but he will also have to file a complaint to get his money back from his previous ‘employer’. People suggested he keep any payment receipts and emails with him and file an FIR for fraud.
Such scams are rampant, with people exploiting vulnerable members of the community. Recovering the lost money is difficult, but at least the scam can be reported and such cases should be a wake-up call for other Indian aspirants.

The H-1B process is already uncertain and no one can guarantee you legal entry to the US no matter how much you pay. Don’t fall for such scams and report them if you encounter one.
