With Trump dropping immigration bombs one after another, everything has become a source of panic. People on H-1B visas, F-1 student visas, and other temporary visas in the U.S. are living in a constant state of fear.
Below is the latest unconfirmed rumor spreading on WhatsApp groups in the U.S. about an H-1B visa holder’s port of entry experience. Unfortunately, these kinds of unverified messages are appearing out of nowhere, spreading fast, and creating unnecessary panic. We advise you to be wise when consuming such viral WhatsApp forwards.
Hey everyone, wanted to share something.
My wife’s manager at XYZ (Atlanta) mentioned in a team meeting that one of their full-time employees recently had his H-1B revoked after returning from vacation.
During immigration at the Port of Entry, he casually mentioned that he had worked remotely for 2 weeks during his 4-week trip to India.
As per H-1B rules, you’re only authorized to work while physically present in the U.S., so this statement caused serious consequences.
The manager advised everyone to avoid international travel unless absolutely necessary during the upcoming holidays.
